Customer Reviews

"Simunye - The Spirit of Africa" was an exhilarating live performance presented by Victoria Falls Theatre. From the minute you stepped into the open-air theatre, you knew you were going to see something different! The seating was on graded rows of wooden flooring in sturdy directors' chairs, with the addition of a colourful woven blanket to keep you warm. You looked onto a stunning backdrop of colourful bush vegetation that had a large opening in the middle from where the actors entered the stage. The performance involved acting, singing, dancing, drumming, puppetry and the evolvement of the story of Simunye. The actors were passionate and obviously committed to gaining the audience's avid attention. The dancing around the stage was spectacular, with the loud beat of the drum accompanying the warriors' movements. The elephants' costumes were incredible. The lead actors gave great performances. This is a show that both adults and children will enjoy and understand. It lasts for approximately one hour. As a regular subscriber to two Australian Theatre Companies, I can assure theatre goers you will not be disappointed by your attendance at "Simunye: The Spirit of Africa". Sincere congratulations to everyone, both on stage and behind the scenes, for a wonderful evening's entertainment! - Maureen
